This weekend was a lazy one so I got a little extra couch time and managed to get my second block from the Promises & Borders BOM done. Katie came down with a fever, sore throat and stomach bug on Thursday. She continued to get worse and by late Friday evening she had quit drinking anything and wouldn't even swallow her own spit. ( Gross ~ I know!) She just kept crying that it hurt so bad and she's usually not a whiner so I knew it was bad. I felt so sorry for her because I had already done everything that I knew to help her. Finally after much consideration I ended up taking her to the ER late Friday night which is where we sat for 6 hours. We finally got to come home at around 3 a.m. that night and we both crashed as soon as we got in bed.
The Dr. gave her some medicine to ease the inflammation and thankfully it helped. Shortly after she began drinking again. Six days later her throat and tonsils are still pretty swollen but the redness & yuck is going away. She's now drinking and eating without any problems.
Both blocks side by side to get an idea of what it's going to look like together.
So since I've finished the Promises and Borders Block early I'm gonna have to find another project to work on until the new block is released next month.
I think I know what it will be!
I'm going to use some of the red, white & blue fabrics that I posted about a few weeks ago along with a new pattern that I just purchased.
When I get my materials gathered I'll give you a glimpse of what it will be.
Those are so pretty!!! glad to hear Katie is starting to feel better, and 6 hrs. is a LONG time to be at ER but I know from past experience with our local hospital it seems to be the norm!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that was a lot of time there! But glad she is better, and you finally got to rest! Your blocks are so lovely, of course, all of your work is! Hope you have a pleasant evening! Hugs
