I have wanted to try this for so long but I dreaded the mess that I figured it would make in my oven.
Pleasantly surprised though~NO MESS what so ever!
My family LOVES breakfast food. They could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bacon of course is their chosen meat for the meal but I absolutely HATE standing at the stove frying enough bacon to feed the whole family.
Not a problem anymore!
Why fry when you can bake??
Line a large baking sheet (or two) with aluminum foil.
Lay bacon slices flat and right beside each other. They will shrink up as they bake.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
Timing will vary depending on the oven but I began really watching it after 20 minutes. I cooked 2 trays and the bottom tray cooked quicker so I removed it after 20 minutes and then I continued cooking the top tray for another 5-10 minutes.
Once cooked, immediately remove the bacon from the baking sheet and place on paper towels to soak up the excess grease.
Pan clean-up was super easy. I just folded the foil up into a bowl shape and let the grease cool and harden then threw it in the garbage.
I love cooking bacon this way; no mess to clean up on top of the stove. And all the slices lay flat!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great week!
GREAT idea!!! Reminds me of a recipe I tucked away somewhere for the brown sugar coated bacon,it looked SOOOO good but I never did made it yet! Have a wonderful day Jessica!!!
ReplyDeleteThe only way I cook bacon. With 5 bacon loving grandkids, 2 of them teenagers we have to cook 3 - 5 lbs at a time depending on how hungry they are. I have also started making scrambled eggs in a 9 x 13 pan in the oven to go with.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I love, love bacon, but hate frying it. Now I will buy it and enjoy it again!
ReplyDeleteLove cooking bacon this way! So glad I'm not the only one!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you thank you thank you Jessica! Thanks for being the guneia pig! lol My kids love bacon and I personally hate to fry it. I get burned every time and I simply don't cook it. My kids only get bacon on Saturdays when daddy frys it! lol Now I'll be able to make it too! I also think baking it wouldn't take as long as standing there frying it too!
ReplyDeleteTinfoil is the key...so you can just wrap up, roll and throw!! ha I also make bacon in the microwave if I don't want to make a lot. Hope you are doing well...stop over and say hi. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I have never, ever fried bacon! Glad you learned this easy way! Enjoy!
