Homemade Beer Bread

Have you ever purchased a box of beer bread mix that you simply add a bottle of beer and a little butter ?
My mom buys a packet of it for me every once in a while (can't remember the name of it) and I think it's pretty tasty for a box mix but a little on the pricey side when you consider the few ingredients that are actually in the mix.
So when I came across this recipe in an old box of recipes from my mother-in-law I knew I had to try it.
Sorry it's not the best picture! My oldest son got his hands on it before I could take a picture.

Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour
3 tbsp. sugar
12 oz. bottle of beer

Mix all ingredients and place in a greased bread pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.
Brush a little melted butter on the top as soon as you remove it from the oven and it's ready.
Enjoy!

  1. Only 3 ingredients, you can't beat that! I've seen he prices on the store bought mixes and this sounds much easier on the wallet and looks good!
