Planting Seeds...Wish me Luck!!!

Yesterday I received the garden seeds that I ordered. Several of the tomato seeds that I ordered where on back order so I went last night to look for some at a local store. I would like to get them all planted at one time so hopefully all will be ready to put in the ground when the time is right. (Last year we got a late start and I bought my plants from the co-op. This year I thought I would try my hand with seeds & get them in the ground as soon as it's time.)

I want to make the garden a little larger this year and plant a few new things but mainly just to add more potatoes. We used them up so quick last year. It just kills me to have to pay $5 or more for a bag a potatoes and then when you get them home some of them aren't worth a darn. (green, rotten, full of black spots)

Anyways here is what I plan to plant this year.

corn, green beans, peas, onions, 5 varieties of tomatoes, pimiento peppers, king orange peppers, mild banana peppers, small sugar pumpkins, & potatoes. I planted squash, zucchini & carrots last year but they didn't do too well so I don't think I even messing with them this year. ( But that could change.)

I also have flower seeds to start. I always head to the local greenhouse every spring for flowers so I thought why not try those from seed too.

Wish me luck cause I'm gonna need it.

Oh what a lovely sight those seed pkts. are! Here in Pa. its snowing again, I'm SO ready to go out and play in my garden! Last year I planted carrots for the bunnies but never thinned them out so we got really weird ones, some had the green top with 3 or 4 "legs", even the bunnies didn't like them, LOL! Have a great weekend!

I'm envious :) We won't be planting anything for awhile yet - too much snow!

I hope everything you plant thrives and you have a bountiful harvest! Keep us posted :)

I know what ye mean about the potatoes. They are sky-high and have you noticed that there are not very many kinds now? There used to be bags and bags of different ones, also bins with so many different sizes, and now...very little and priced crazy!

You can order seeds I had no clue! Are they better than the stores??? I must know. I can't wait to plant!

I always get so excited looking at the seeds at this time of year. But living in a teeny apartment, not much planting for me, though you may have inspired me to do a pot or two of herbs.

Good luck- I still have to plant mine! I have not had much luck keeping things alive after getting them to sprout- so we'll see.

I hope you have a much greener thumb than me! I want a garden this year. We'll see if that transpires!

Good luck with your seeds! Isn't it exciting when they arrive? I have yet to get mine into the starter pots, but that's on my list for this week. I bought a little greenhouse this year to try out--we usually do poles and plastic but I thought i'd give this one a try and see how it holds up.

It's snowing here again today, but the bulbs are trying to come up.
