Death by Chocolate


This is chocolate OVERKILL but my husband loves every ounce of it!


My Aunt gave me the recipe years ago and I see it in many small-town community cookbooks so I'm not real sure who gets the credit but I can assure you it's not me.


Death by Chocolate

1 family size fudge brownie mix

1/2 c. strong brewed coffee with 1 tsp. sugar

3 (3oz.) boxes of chocolate instant pudding

8 (1.2-1.4oz.) Heath candy bars

12 oz. Cool Whip


Bake brownies according to box directions.

Cool.

Poke holes all over brownies and then pour coffee mixture over them.

Mix pudding as directed on box.

Break candy bars into small pieces. I place them in a Zip-Loc bag and then use my rolling pin to pound them into pieces.

Break up the brownies. No need to be neat here!

In a trifle bowl, place half of the brownies in the bottom.

Put half of the pudding over the brownies.

Put about half of the crushed candy bars on top of pudding.

Put 1/2 of Cool Whip over candy.

Repeat layers and leave just enough Heath Bar to sprinkle over the top.

Refrigerate and ENJOY!

Chocolate overkill? ON NO...that looks just PERFECT!!!!! The coffee in there makes it even more YUMMIER!!! Oh, I can almost taste it now..............

Is there such a thing as too much chocolate?

Does it have a coffee taste? I don't like coffee, but love chocolate!

Nancy,
I'm not a big fan of coffee either but I didn't taste it at all. If you don't want to take a chance then just leave the coffee out. I think it will taste just as good.
