We usually stick around town to watch fireworks on the 4th but this year we went to Wheeling along with my brother and his family, otherwise known as Fit & Flabless here in blogland.
We parked in the parking garage, which was the worst part of the night because it took us over a half an hour to get out. Anyways, I snapped this photo as we were descending the stairs. It is of the front steps of the Wheeling Wesbanco Arena.
There were tons of people. The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra played at the Heritage Port Amphitheater and fireworks followed at dark. The Wheeling Suspension Bridge served as a backdrop and launching pad for the fireworks display. Here is a partial picture of the bridge (in the background)before the display began.
The fireworks were beautiful! Here are just a few of my favorites.

But of course, the best was saved for last!
Fireworks were in the air as well as cascading over the bridge giving the appearance of a waterfall.
Super weather, yummy food, family and fireworks.
What a great way to spend a holiday weekend!

Sounds like alot of fun! Hubby and I stayed home this year and my son took his girlfriend to see the fireworks. Here in our small town one of the best spots to see them is the K-mart parking lot so thats where they went, lol! Your pics turned out great!
Gosh, how beautiful! I have never seen that "waterfall" effect before, that is really unique!
It looks like such a beautiful area. The fireworks, especially the waterfall are gorgeous!
Sounds wonderful and so much fun. I love fireworks and NYC has great fireworks, but the crowd and the trip home really put me off from going to see them. Glad to experience them from your photos.
Oh my gosh...the wait was HORRIBLE to get out. I had to go to the BR so flippin' bad. I truly thought I was going to pee myself. We had to make a pit stop at Kroger on the way home. Oh well. :):) Glad you had a great time. Your pics look awesome! Mine didn't turn out so well. I need copies!
Glad you had a great 4th! :) Stop over for a visit soon! Hope you have a sweet day.
