I jotted this recipe down on a little scrap of paper one day when visiting my MIL. I think it might have been out of a Taste Of Home magazine but I'm not positive.
Anyways, I finally got around to making them this weekend and they were pretty good. They taste like a peanut butter cookie with a chewy caramel center.
*Ever notice that most of my recipes contain chocolate or peanut butter or both.*
Peanut Butter Milk Dud Cookies
1 1/2 cups butter, softened
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
2 cups sugar, divided
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
4 eggs
3 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
10 oz. Milk Duds
Cream the butter, peanut butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and brown sugar.
Add eggs and beat well.
Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl and mix. Then add slowly to creamed mixture.
Cover and chill dough in refrigerator for 1 hour.
Remove and take about 2 tsp. dough and wrap it around a Milk Dud. Make sure candy is totally covered.
Roll in remaining sugar.
Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350° for 10-12 minutes or till golden brown.Remove from oven and let set for for 2-3 minutes before placing on wire racks.

I'm afraid that when I make those, I will eat them all up while they are still hot!!! Anyone who wants one will just have to run to the stove.
I'm with Penniwig. I couldn't trust myself with a batch of these beauties and a cold glass of milk.
Can't wait to try making these. Yes, I agree - choc. and p butter stuff are the best!!!!
I saw a similar recipe in a magazine and never copied it down. I used google and your recipe showed up. I made this recipe for a cookie exchange and for my husbands co-workers. Everyone raved and only crumbs were left. Thank You and Merry Christmas. Elise
