Hi everyone!
I thought I better pop on and let you all know that I am still alive. I'm still trying to get used to the new computers...notice I said computerS.
My husband REALLY surprised me Christmas morning when I unwrapped a new laptop.
I was so NOT expecting that, especially since we just bought a new desktop a week before Christmas.
I love it!
However, I do not love the new Windows 7 program.
Does anyone else out there have major problems with it or am I just stupid?
As I said before, I will have to type a whole post on that topic alone.
Window 7 that is ..... not my stupidity!
Well here are a few pictures from our Christmas.
All three of the kids got new pellet/BB guns. Katie finally has a gun of her own and one that I don't think any of the boys will try taking off of her since it's pink. :0)
Here is a picture of part of the family gathered around the tree at my Mom & Dad's house. The kids were patiently waiting for everyone to sit down so that they could start ripping through the paper.
Lots of things to keep them entertained with.
Play-doh & Legos
It's also gonna be a bit noisy around our houses!
Katie received a toy guitar and a violin as well as these two bell sets.
The "BIG KIDS" also got new instruments.
We bought a Ukelele for my Dad. (I didn't get any pictures of it yet.) It was just one of those ideas that you kind of laugh at but I know Dad and know that he will play it.
He has had many different instruments over the years from pianos to horns.
Actually, I can remember him having a banjo when I was a kid and listening to him pick at it.
That is, until he got part of his finger cut off while working at Fostoria Glass. After that I don't remember him playing anymore.
The other "big kid" that got an instrument was ME.
My Mom & Dad got me this dulcimer.
I've been wanting one and I can't wait to begin learning how to play it.
Hopefully it will be less of a challenge to learn than the Windows program on my computers!
I've got plenty more photos but I won't bore you all with them.
I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday weekend!

I love the dulicmer, I play a cd of dulcimer music in my kitchen and find it so peaceful.
Jessica, with all those new instruments maybe you can form a family band;) Remember watching the partridge family?? LOL! I LOVE Katie's new pink gun, that is just awesome and NO, I doubt the boys will bother it:D Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas!

Looks like your family had much fun.
I absolutely dislike learning new computer software.....I have a Mac so I'm not familiar with how Windows works but many times I've wanted to throw a tomato at my screen!
Have a Great week.
My new laptop has Windows 7 on it. The only thing I've ever done on it is get on the internet though. I have tried to use Microsoft Word on it, and it is so different and confusing! If I need to type something up, I get on my old desktop!
I "learned" how to play a dulcimer a couple of years ago when we went camping in the Smokies. It's a neat little instrument!
Thanks for sharing all those
wonderful family photos...
Looks like you had great Christmas
Window 7, now I have not heard
about how difficult it is with
Microsoft Word, I know it tooks
some time for me to learn Windows

things as is... hummmm
I know Windows Vista was awful..
I will have to chat with my Tech
Support Guys on this one...
I have always wanted a dulcimer. I played around with one in school and loved it...actually remember it being pretty easy to pick up. Love that he got you that. A laptop too? Awesome husband you have. The picture of the kids with their guns is so cute. The pink one is right down my alley :) Glad it was such a great holiday.
New guns and a laptop, such a big Christmas. You will get use to 7, took me a while. Will also love the laptop, I have not turned on my desk top in over a year. Guess I should give it to someone.
LOL!! Jessica, I love the comment about you don't think anyone will be taking the pink BB gun off your daughter......I don't think anyone would be taking anything off any of the kids, by the looks of that photo!!! Annie get your gun comes into mind. Thanks for sharing your Christmas photo's, that was great!! Kind regards, Anita.

Sounds like a great Christmas! I know the new Windows 7 will take some getting used to, but I bet you will like it. It took me a while to get used to the Vista I have, and now I love it! Hugs
OH WOW! Your dulcimer is beautiful! Too bad we don't live closer as my daughter would be happy to give you lessons! She is a natural on stringed instruments and plays banjo in a Gospel group along with a few songs on her dulcimer. Her fiance' plays mandolin in another Gospel group and he lost part of his right index finger in a table saw accident. I'm SO excited for you!!!
Your new dulcimer is beautiful, what a lovely Christmas gift. I have one as well. First thing I got for myself after retiring to East Tennessee. I'm ashamed to say, I still haven't learned to play it. Happy Holidays. :)
