This is our first week back in school and so far so good.
We're up and at it bright and early each morning which allows me so much more time to get things done.
You know it's so nice to be able to sleep in during the summer months but it's equally nice to get back to a routine when school begins. Anyone else feel that way or am I just nuts??
Anyways, yesterday after putting together a lasagna to bake for dinner I whipped up a batch of Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats and as I was gathering ingredients I found 2 jars of Nutella so I thought I'd splurge and use one of them to make another pan of treats.
Nutella Rice Krispy Bars
6 cups Rice Krispy cereal
1 stick butter
1 cup Nutella
11 oz. marshmallow creme
Butter a 13X9 baking dish and set aside.
Place cereal in a large mixing bowl.
In a saucepan, melt butter and Nutella over medium heat until smooth.
Add marshmallow creme and continue stirring until everything is melted and blended smoothly.
Pour mixture over cereal and stir to coat well.
Pat mixture into the bottom of the buttered dish.
Cool completely and cut into squares.
These were so good. To make the peanut butter version just use one cup peanut butter in place of the Nutella. Oh, and you can add the sprinkles if that makes you happy!
