Downsizing...or So I thought!

I began working on this stitchery last week in hopes of completing it for Valentine's day. (Pattern Here)I know how I want to finish it and I know that I will need some pretty fabric. So off to my fabric stash!

Photobucket

I have 3 large totes overflowing with fabrics so I thought that maybe since I've not been sewing much lately that I would "weed" out my stash. Maybe get rid of some that I don't think I will use.

Yeah Right!

I placed fabrics in piles of blues, reds, browns, etc. and then went back through them to downsize.

Guess how many I got rid of?

NONE- not one single piece of fabric.

To me, fabrics are just like good books.

You can NEVER have too many!

I think instead of getting rid of anything I may just need a bigger space to store them all.

Have a great day!

Oh you funny gal!!! I had to laugh at your idea of getting more storage rather than part with those delightful fabrics...and here I thought this was going to be one of those posts where someone brags about simplyfying their lives and being able to put all their craft materials into one quart baggie...lol...

Great idea - just buy a larger tub! And of course go shopping!

I don't even sew any more, and I have a hard time passing by the fabric counters. For years I had a big box of fabrics, but finally realized that I really, really wasn't going to use it. I'm glad you kept your stash--YOU will use it eventually!

LOL I'm the same way with my fabric. And I just keep adding to it !!! I have mine in totes as well. Fabric and patterns are my weakness lol.

I can't tell you how many times I've thought of culling out my stash, and of course it never happens. If I were to get rid of it, where would it go?? I think I'll just leave this up to the family when I'm long gone. LOL

I love fabric. I have lots. I buy material at yard sales and get very good deals. I go through mine sometimes and weed a little of it out. I keep mine on this large metal shelf that I have in my laundry room. I haven't sewed anything in a long time, but I will use it some day, at least I hope so.
