Another One Bites the Dust

Old refrigerator on it's way out.
My luck with appliances hasn't been very good lately.
Just before Thanksgiving I had to buy a new stove. I'm not sure how old it was because it came with the house when we bought it but I do know that it was at least 10 years old.

At about the same time that the stove was giving me fits my refrigerator also began acting up. (It's the refrigerator that we bought when we first got married so it's about 17 years old.)
Everything started freezing. I messed with the temperature controls for a day or two and then it seemed to straighten up. I was hoping it was fixed!
WRONG!
This past week it started freezing up again.
I've messed with the controls, unplugged it , cleaned it and still freezing everything.
I noticed today that my eggs are frozen solid and the shells have cracked open. The only good thing is that since they are frozen there is no mess to clean up.

Needless to say the kids and I spent the afternoon at the mall doing some refrigerator shopping.
Do you know how hard it is to find in-stock refrigerators?
I needed something today, not a week from now!

I lucked out when I entered Lowe's.
They have many appliances in-stock and ready to go right then if you want to haul it or they will deliver it free of charge the next day ~ not in a week from now.
So next time I'm in search of an appliance ( and I hope that it's no where in the near future) I will make Lowe's my first stop.

For now we're just using the coolers to keep stuff cold. Tomorrow we'll bring the new refrigerator in and then I'll be off to get some groceries.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Stay warm!

We bought all our appliances at Lowes when we built our house. They usually have some good deals when you buy a bunch at once. What kind did you get? All my stuff is Whirlpool Gold.

My refrigerator has been freezing things in it too! Yikes! I hate the thoughts of having to buy a new one. I really haven't played with the controls on it though. How long did it take for it to die from the time you first noticed that things were freezing? There are a few things in the bottom drawer right now that are frozen!

This evening my stove didn't work! Yikes again! I'm glad it didn't do that to me yesterday when I had homemade pizza to go in the oven! I was just going to make some fries that my husband wanted for dinner so it wasn't a big deal but he is going to have to figure out what is wrong with it! My stove is only around 5 years old!

Sorry you had to get another new appliance so soon!

Hey Jessica, looks like we're having the same kind of luck with appliances. My dryer died in July and had to get a new one and my stove died yesterday. Hubby and I are picking the new stove up tomorrow. Oh and my computer also got fried in July! Only thing left to go next is my old refrigerator it's 23 yrs. old. Hope it keeps going a little while longer.

It always seems when one goes out--the others follow. I am so sorry. You’re right about Lowe’s though--you can’t beat that next day free delivery :)

Seems they all go at unconvient times, most of mine are over 12 years old now, my dishwasher broke down, now I use it for extra storage space. My ice maker needs replacing too, hope you get a new one soon, hugs Barbara

Our fridge and washing machine died a couple months ago within a couple months of each other. Lowe's is where we got our new ones. Good deals on both of them! Glad you found one you like!

Happy new refrigerator! Mine is nearing the end, but I am hoping that it can hang on for just a little while longer. Did a dishwasher replacement in the fall. I go to a local chain and they are very nice about delivery, in-stock and all the things that take the difficulties out of buying appliances.
