Homemade Beer Bread

Have you ever purchased a box of beer bread mix that you simply add a bottle of beer and a little butter ?
My mom buys a packet of it for me every once in a while (can't remember the name of it) and I think it's pretty tasty for a box mix but a little on the pricey side when you consider the few ingredients that are actually in the mix.
So when I came across this recipe in an old box of recipes from my mother-in-law I knew I had to try it.
Sorry it's not the best picture! My oldest son got his hands on it before I could take a picture.

Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour
3 tbsp. sugar
12 oz. bottle of beer

Mix all ingredients and place in a greased bread pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.
Brush a little melted butter on the top as soon as you remove it from the oven and it's ready.

Only 3 ingredients, you can't beat that! I've seen he prices on the store bought mixes and this sounds much easier on the wallet and looks good!

That looks quite yummy! Bet it would be good with a pot of beef stew on a cold evening.
